How the Iron Breaker III Works

A bubble of air is stored inside the Iron Breaker III, compressed by your well pressure within the media tank. When water passes through the air, the iron and H₂S present in it get converted into particles.

These particles are trapped by the catalytic filter media in the tank, and the air bubble is consumed by the passing water. The Iron Breaker III then backwashes itself to remove iron particles trapped inside.

It draws in atmosphere and replenishes the air bubble. During this process, the tank is temporarily emptied of all the water, and oxygen molecules are transferred into and on the surface of the media bed where all oxidation occurs. The system then returns to the “service” position and filters your water.

If you add the ozone generator option, the Iron Breaker III system will be automatically sanitized during the regeneration process.
